General Options

 

1.On the File tab, click Options.

2.In the dialog, in the left sidebar, click General.

3.Change the parameters you want.

4.Click OK.

 

Below is a description of the parameters in this section.

 

Measurement Units

The measurement units that you want to use as the default measurement in different dialog boxes (e.g. Paragraph Options, Page Options, etc.), and as the measurement units of the ruler tool in the word processor.

 

Show shortcut keys in ToolTips

If selected, the ToolTip will also show the keyboard shortcut for the appropriate action. A ToolTip is displayed when the mouse hovers a particular toolbar element.

 

Show Quick Access Toolbar below the Ribbon

If selected, the Quick Access toolbar with frequently used commands, will be located under the main Ribbon toolbar. By default, the Quick Access toolbar is located in the title area of the main window.

 

Minimize the Ribbon

Check this option if you want to keep the Ribbon minimized. To use the Ribbon while it is minimized, click the tab you want to use, and then click the option or command you want to use.
